Once it starts to get cold I often hear people saying that there is no way to style great outfits once the temperatures begin to dip under 50 degrees. I disagree strongly with this, as there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothes as the Swedes say.

I believe that styling winter outfits is your time to really play with layering in particular. Whether it be simple with sweaters or with different weighted elements like coats and other textiles that keep you both warm and looking your best.

Personally, I have an extensive collection of sweaters, turtlenecks, scarves, cardigans, and even coats that help me get through it all. Just this week I got an unexpected invite for a holiday  dinner with some friends, which gave me the perfect excuse to pull out my latest additions from JUSTFAB to step into the festivities in style.

I’ve said it more than once, and I’ll say it again: There isn’t a statement sleeve that I don’t like. And these flowy sleeves definitely add some flair to what would probably otherwise be seen as a basic sweater. Thankfully they still fit within the confines of my crop faux fur coat, which definitely was a necessity given the winter chill of the evening. I added a pop of (holiday) color with my Kikay clip-on earrings and a red lip that worked well with the Irish cream and Caviar black stripes. The final texture element that  pulled this look together were these strappy faux suede pumps.

And here’s a close-up of how they look. The cross-straps would have definitely popped more with tights of a different color for some contrast, and I had played around with the idea of some red or printed tights, but there is something about black on black that just screams lux when it’s done with different textures, so I couldn’t resist. The best part is that these are surprisingly very comfortable and I didn’t find myself wishing I had brought along some flats with me which is usually the case whenever I go out with any heels. Yup, these are subway commuter approved.

With it being so cold, there is nothing better than having a party outfit be both dressy and cozy, thankfully I was able to step out that way thanks to JUSTFAB. Definitely check their winter collection for some elevated styles to help you get through the season.
