One of my big purchases of 2024 was this Foxblood jumpsuit. I had missed the first drop so once it became available again I didn’t hesitate. Actually, that’s a lie. I totally did, and I ended up waiting so long that the XL/2XL size option sold out by the time I was ready to pull the trigger. I didn’t let that stop me though, I ended up sizing down to the M/L size instead. The jumpsuit does have an oversized fit which drapes my petite plus frame just fine, except for at my bustline.
For the record, all the buttons do close, the fabric just doesn’t have any stretch and pulls a bit more than I would like at the bust. This means that I have to keep the first few buttons open, serving major cleavage every time I wear it. You know what they say: If you got it, flaunt it.
Despite my initial excitement for this wardrobe find, it ended up buried in the deepest part of my closet due to becoming somewhat of a recluse soon after it arrived. I kept telling myself that I’d pull it out the minute the right occasion came along. Not that I ever need a reason to dress up, but it certainly helps. Fast forward to New York Fashion Week (NYFW) last month. My friend and stylist/fragrance enthusiast, Tan Bee, asked that I accompany her at an event…and then another one. Admittedly I did keep things low-key for the first, but by the second, I decided to really show up. That’s how I ended up styling the very piece I almost sold in August to cover my cable bill in August.
There are only a handful of pictures from that second event, none taken by yours truly. Yet, it did make enough of an impression that it deserved an encore.
I did style the look a little differently than when I first wore it during NYFW, swapping the pointed-toe, grommet-strap leather flats for low-top canvas Converse and pulling my hair into a ponytail instead of the half-up/half-down situation I went with last time. Partly, it was to show off the newest addition to my clip-on earring collection, these silver sword earrings, and partly because it turned out way warmer than I expected. The jumpsuit isn’t cotton, so this was me trying not to melt in the too-hot-for-fall sun.
I tend to avoid wearing my hair this way (it puts my face and ears front and center, hello body-insecurities!), but this time it felt worth it. I’m coming out of a depression-induced hibernation, might as well do it right by stepping out of my comfort zone too, right?

Do you also like dressing up in order to get out of a funk/feel more like yourself again?
**Style note: This jumpsuit is currently not currently available on the Foxblood website, but I do recommend giving them a follow on social media to see if they ever announce its return, it definitely is worth the investment. They tend to carry all of their clothing options in up to a 3X, many of which are oversized too.
My favorite part of this jumpsuit is that its design was so well thought out that it has basically solved the bathroom problem as it features fully functional buttons at the bottom to easily transition to a flowy maxi dress. That’s two looks in one!
