It took 6 long years but, I am totally credit card debt free!I started this journey in late 2014 after grad school. Back then, I found myself with a little over than $5k in credit card debt, no job (or savings) and in need of a new apartment – not the best place to be in. Needless to say I’m living proof that you can battle credit card debt while also being broke. I will admit that things did get harder once I was laid off in 2015 from one job and then being furloughed in April from another. However, I still managed to reach my goal. Of course, everyone’s financial situation is different, but, I want to share what helped me get to this point as I know it could prove to be helpful for people dealing with the same issue during this pandemic. NYC Blogger Boo Staycation: Day 2 Recap
While day one of our NYC staycation was a day of touring and entertainment, day two was more about relaxing before we tackled a new week. This called for brunch at Alice’s Tea Cup and a spa day at Premier 57 Spa.

NYC Blogger Boo Staycation: Day 1 Recap
Since starting this blog 3 years ago I have been very blessed to meet some pretty awesome people including fellow bloggers and models. As influencers we do get the chance to spend time together at events, however rarely does that leave us much time for much of anything else so I was excited when stylist and blogger, Nanthale of N.E.C. Style, getting inspiration from the newly released film, Girls Trip, came up with the idea of a staycation.
We decided to take advantage of just a bit of what the city we call home has to offer, creating a weekend itinerary of activities for ourselves and set off to have a great time. Our group consisted of model and blogger, Brooke of Madame Finehouse, Fabiola of Fabiola Michelle, body positive fashion illustrator, Jonquel of Jonquel Art , Marcy of Fearlessly Just Me and of course, Nanthale. It was a great change of pace to just enjoy each others company for a full weekend even more so since the weekend we chose even fell in line with Marcy’s birthday.

Job Interview Bag Essentials
As you are now well aware, I was laid off before the holidays and have since been going into the city for some job interviews. Although an interview outfit post is soon coming, I also wanted to share what is in my bag and my current interview bag essentials. I should note that this list of items are a bit winter specific in some cases and that I omitted the obvious such as my cell phone, keys and wallet. Take a look! Continue reading
When You Are Laid-off Before the Holidays…
I am unemployed. Those are three words I did not even think I would be saying at the start of the new year. (If anything I thought it would have been more along the lines of , “I got promoted.” ) The unfortunate reality is that the business world lacks humane decisions and when it comes to creating budgets for the upcoming new year they have no problem with making the staff “leaner” by vastly reducing its numbers regardless of the festive holiday season. I, like many others in the world, was a casualty of this practice, which brought on feelings and thoughts I was not anticipating. True, nothing lasts forever but when you have been working for approximately 2 years just get your foot in the door only to have it slam in your face, like I have, it makes you feel like you failed and stand no chance in actually starting a career. You blame yourself even though there was nothing you could do to change the decision, but through it all, here are some things you should remember: Continue reading
