So last month I took a chance and submitted an entry to the Full Beauty Own Your Curves Star Style contest. I have never won anything like this before so this was a big thing for me even if I only got third place. Major thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for me. It truly means a lot. With the winnings I decided to get some spring dresses to feature on the blog, the first of which is this zip front A-line belted dress by Ellos.
The Georgette dress is edgy with the v-neck zip front yet sweet and feminine due to the blush color. I tend to say far away from blush tones because I find that it is too close to my skin tone and has a tendency of paling me out (forgive the pun) which is why I included hints of black in the outfit with my Aldo bowler bag, and favorite lace front oxford heels. I should note that the dress is lined and has side-seam pockets. It also comes with its own self-tie belt but I decided to use a black skinny belt instead to balance the look.
My favorite part of this look is the inclusion of this deep teal brocade blazer which I picked up at Full Blossom Chic plus size consignment shop during my trip to New Orleans last spring. It is hands down my favorite secondhand fashion find as it was only $10 and is reminiscent of 18th century fashions which I love. The combination of the color and damask print completes the simple yet chic look. This is easily becoming my favorite look of this spring season and it hasn’t even officially started yet.
