I don’t know what it is about jumpsuits, but I find that they have a way of making me feel like a total badass when I wear them. Which is pretty  funny considering I can count how many I own on one hand and I make a point not to wear them that often because, to paraphrase a viral tweet from last year, whenever I do I’m left alone with my decisions each time I need to go to the bathroom.

I guess that’s fair exchange given the circumstances, haha. Needless to say I’ve been on the hunt for a denim jumpsuit for the longest time and I’ve finally found one in straight-size section of a brand I don’t regularly shop from no less.

It did take a bit for me to make this jumpsuit mine, mostly because it was always sold out. Thankfully I held onto hope that it would come back in stock and the minute that I did I scooped it up to claim it as my own. The wait was well worth it though because this piece is the perfect length for my petite plus frame while also having the right amount of sophisticated edge that can be dressed up for the office as I had intended.

This jumpsuit actually comes with a matching denim tie belt, but I wanted to have some more structure as well as waist definition, so I swapped it for one of my own with hardware that matched the metal tone of the buttons. If it weren’t for the fact that the summer heat and humidity is starting to settle in, I would have gone with heeled boots, however I decided on my faux leather platform creepers to give me some height. The Doc Martens heart bag and my favorite choker pulled this simple corp goth look together fair beyond what I hoped and pictured in my head.

With summer finally making its presence known, I probably won’t be wearing this again until fall comes round given how thick the material is, though I’m already looking forward to styling this with some booties and a leather jacket. I mean just because I feel like a badass as is it doesn’t mean that I shouldn’t take things up to an 11, right?
