Back in Black (Faux Leather)

Fall has gotten quite a bit of a slow start this year in New York, and so I’ve been forced to wait longer than usual before I finally break out my favorite season staples. I will admit that I do enjoy the challenge of styling summer into fall, though the anticipation for crisp fall weather has me feeling antsy.

This weekend I finally got my wish as the temperatures dipped closer to the seasonal norm, allowing me to finally break out the newest addition to my leather jacket collection along with sweater from my Cider haul from last fall and some new jeans that I bought in the most unlikely of places.

This is honestly the kind of thing I would put together for a concert, though seeing that I don’t have one on my calendar for the next couple of months, I figured I shouldn’t waste an outfit due to the lack of the “proper occasion” and I wore it to an autumn street fair in Astoria.

The fact that I got these jeans at Costco is what makes me laugh.  It is probably the most millennial thing I’ve ever done, but I have no regrets. As someone who is petite AND plus size, it is rare to find a pair of jeans (skinny or otherwise) that have an inseam that works for my short stature and apple body shape. It was a great find so if you’re in the market for some new jeans and you happen to have access to a Costco membership, I highly recommend giving these a try for yourself. I was pleasantly surprised and I bet you will too.
