As you can tell I love holidays, Halloween and Christmas especially, and I consider myself lucky that I’m able to celebrate in NYC as we tend to go hard here for both. The lights, the decor, the holiday themed food – it all is truly amazing this time of year in NYC.
In the past I would spend most of my evenings after work walking around, taking in the holiday sights while doing some my Christmas shopping in stores and in person. This year has been much different, with my holiday prep taking on the form of strictly online shopping as well as cleaning and decorating my apartment. This wasn’t at all as boring as I originally expected as I’ve even managed to do bring in more decor than I ever have which has definitely helped me get out of a depressive stupor. Continue reading

City Winter Plaid
As the song goes, “these boots were made for walking” and that’s exactly what I decided to do by making the trek into Lower Manhattan this past weekend. Honestly, it felt odd to be back in the city after spending so many months away, but it was a welcome change of scenery, which is pretty ironic since back in January I was complaining to my best friend about how much I hated my winter commute. If there is one thing most of us have learned this year is how much we appreciate even those things that once gave us grief. Anyways, I figured if I’m going to be in the city, I better look like the city girl I am, hence this outfit.

2020 Small Business Holiday Shopping List
The holiday shopping season is officially upon us and while it may be tempting to just get it all done with Amazon, this year more than ever, we really should consider shopping small and local for our gifts. After all these are the businesses that were hit the hardest with the pandemic and they need support. So with that in mind, here are some of my favorites that I’ve shopped before and thought you may love as well.
1.) Rebel Moon Magic Candles
This is a brand started by my best friend, Brooke (@rebelbmagick) who is also the inspiration behind this post. She launched this small business at the very start of the pandemic with her first two candles being just the beginning of what she plans to offer so be sure to follow her on IG to see what RMM releases next.
Though I plan to get “Magick” sometime soon, “Moon Petal” is my personal favorite. I have it on my desk and light it whenever I need to wind down from a stressful work day. If you’re looking for a luxury gift for that virtual Secret Santa or even if you want to treat yourself make sure to get one of these.
Dressed to Chill
When it comes to spending the holidays at home, with just my immediate family, I tend to go for something simple. Not because the occasion isn’t special, but since most of my relatives actually live in Panama we really don’t go all out like most other (Latinx) families do. We keep things pretty low key, unless we invite some friends over, and this year was no different.
This is why I went with complete comfort over style with this year’s Thanksgiving outfit – just a cute knit sweater and leggings. I am currently obsessed with this plum/grape shade of purple and Torrid seems to be the one place that actually has anything in this color in my size so this drop shoulder cable knit tunic-length sweater was at the top of my “must buy” list as soon as I saw it online. Other than the color, I really love the strappy lace up front detail that brings some sass to what would otherwise be considered a fumpy top. Unfortunately this sweater is sold out in this color but the style is still available in black in limited sizes.
Falling In Black Lace
Fall is playing games with my heart this year. Just when I thought things were finally cooling down, the weather decides to heat back up again to practically summer levels. I guess I shouldn’t complain too much though because it allowed me to wear something that would otherwise be a bit out of season.
