I took advantage of the nice spring weather New York has been having this weekend to finally wear my first, and certainly not my last, purchase from eShakti. The current price tag attached to this dress is a tad on the expensive side, but I actually bought mine using the $40 gift coupon while the site was hosting a sale by which time the dress was marked down to $62 so this dress was a steal! Though I fell in love with the dress as is online, I had the dress customized to knee length which turned out to be perfect. I am petite (last time I checked I am 5’3”) so the maxi dress trend isn’t one I can really embrace for obvious reasons.
As for my actual birthday celebrations, it was very low key this year. I spent the weekend with my immediate family which was a nice change since we barely get to see each other in the week due to our chaotic schedules. We went out for brunch and later did some “retail reconnaissance” for some potential white tops for this month’s “en blanc” event. No cake yet, but I will probably share one with my brother come the end of the month when we celebrate his birthday.

Style note: I was so excited to finally wear this dress that I did so without washing it first, big mistake. The dye of the dress rubs off, so if you are considering purchasing this dress keep in mind that you should probably wash it once BEFORE wearing it.

Hi. Thanks for reading the blog. I actually sent in my measurements so this dress is completely customized. Eshakti usually gives first-time customers free customization so I highly recommend taking advantage of it since the first time I shopped there by size the piece ended up being way too small. I usually am a size 16W in dresses though. Hope this is helpful.
